Recreational vehicle (often referred as RV) is an enclosed equipment with dual purposes. First it functions as a regular moving vehicle, and second as a temporary home. • Toy hauler - designed to be part living space and part garage.
Renting RVs are expensive, and is not a better alternative to hotels or inns. But try it at least once in your life for the experience.

Clubs hold regular events like rallies, luncheons and tours.
5. Select from RV associations that focus on a specific camping interest or group. Many associations exist for particular ethnic and national origins, persons with disabilities, families, women, retired military, golfers and many more.
Submit an application and pay membership fees. Find out if an initial and annual fee is required. Know if a contract is required and for what duration. Consider becoming an officer or coordinator of special events if you want to have more control over the direction of the organization.

Motorhomes are available in many different styles, colors, shapes, and sizes. Motorhome models are divided into Class A, B, or C categories. A Class A motorhome is the largest and most expensive type of model and a Class C motorhome is more compact and less expensive to purchase.
Motorhomes are most often purchase by people who enjoy traveling frequently. To people unfamiliar with “the RV lifestyle”, towing capacity may not seem all that important. However, to regular RV’ers, towing capacity is a big part of “the RV lifestyle”. After all, companies like Fleetwood persuade consumers to part with large six-figure sums not just based on buying a particular vehicle, but also on buying the whole supposed lifestyle that goes along with it.
For many Americans, “the RV lifestyle” is their dream retirement, traveling wherever they would with no time constraints, meeting both new faces and old friends along the way, spending months at a time with grandchildren or favorite nieces and nephews.It sounds all so leisurely.
But there’s one very important ingredient to this “RV lifestyle”: you need a car, which you tow behind your RV. RV’s cannot run downtown for a quick cup of Starbucks or a stop into Pollo Loco-they’re too big and there’s nowhere to park. You cannot park at a theater or most restaurants with an RV. Other than WalMart and a few others, there are few retailers with parking lots big enough for RV’s. Thus, almost all RV’ers park their RV’s at RV parks and jump into passenger cars or pick-ups for a night on the town, or just about anything other than driving on the highway.
This is where towing weight comes into play. Most or all Class A RVs come with a tow hitch so the owners can tow a their pick-ups or passenger cars behind them as they drive down the highways. (”Class A” refers to the “bus” style of RV, where the engine and drivetrain and living compartment are all a part of one big bus-sized unit. In contrast, Class B RV’s are usually “fifth wheels” which are towed behind, or sometimes on top of, a pick-up truck, and a Class C RV is more of a sleeper van conversion, much smaller than a Class A.) So, Class A RV’s need to be able to tow the types of vehicles which RV owners use when they’re not driving their RV’s.
Now, suddenly, FLEETWOOD has issued a “recall”, telling consumers that the 10,000 lbs. towing capacity was a mistake and offering a new sticker, to be placed over the old sticker, indicating a tow limit of only 5,000 lbs.
This is not a recall. it’s a cover-up. A recall is used where the manufacturer can do something to fix the problem. Putting a sticker on the RV, stating that it now has one-half of the towing capacity that was represented when it was sold, is more of a fraud than a fix.

Are you in the market for an RV? One of the most important choices you’ll have to make is which brand to buy.
Fleetwood has a long history in the RV industry - over 50 years now. They’re known for being one of the more customer-oriented companies.For example, you can go to their plant and take a factory tour. Some brands don’t allow this, but Fleetwood does.
Another important factor in considering an RV brand is the size of the dealer network. After all, if you’re buying an RV, you obviously want to travel. So you want to choose a brand with a large network of dealer/service centers across the country, in case you need service when you’re far away from home. Fleetwood lists about 1,100 dealer/service centers in their network, which is reassuring.
Overall, company personnel are known for caring about their products, as well as the customers who buy them. Fleetwood has even sent technicians to attend RV rallies, just to talk to people (and maybe even do some minor repairs while they’re there).
Fleetwood has its own owner’s club, called the Travelcade Club. There are currently about two dozen local chapters of the club. The chapters have frequent events and get-togethers, including Rallies and Regional Roundups. They also run Travelcades (caravans) to various destinations, with members getting discounts off commercial rates.
The most expensive line Fleetwood makes is the American Coach line. These are top-of-the-line, luxury coaches. They’re actually branded separately, under the American Coach name. Models include the American Heritage, American Eagle, American Dream, and American Tradition.
First, you have to decide if you want a motorhome or a towable RV. Motorhomes are obviously more expensive. Fleetwood RV for sale range from about $90,000, all the way up to a half-million dollars.
